  • 1976 - Launch of first surveys of the Arts in Canada, providing key trends in arts and culture to this day
  • 1978 - Business for the Arts Awards launched to recognize inspired business partnerships with the Arts
  • 1988 - Young in Art program launched, connecting young business professionals to arts boards
  • 1990 - Bovey Award launched to recognize outstanding support of the Arts by a business leader in Canada
  • 1998 - First Canadian Arts Summit established with the Banff Centre, for Arts leaders and their board Chairs
  • 2000 - Focus on the Arts Survey conducted with Ipsos-Reid studying corporate sponsorship of the Arts
  • 2002 - Launch of BoardLink on-line program, matching business volunteers to arts boards across Canada
  • 2003 - artsVest pilot program results in Oakville trigger a three-year expanded pilot to eleven Ontario communities
  • 2005 - artsVest expanded to eleven communities over three years, providing matching incentives to attract business
  • 2006 - BftA wins decades long initiative to remove Capital Gains Tax on publicly-listed securities donated to charities
  • 2006 - Launch of artsScene, BftA's group of young business professionals dedicated to engaging peers in the Arts
  • 2007 - artsVest wins Trillium Foundations "Great Grants Award", based on stellar results of three-year pilot program
  • 2008 - New Arnold Edinborough Award launched to recognize outstanding business volunteers in the Arts under 40
  • 2008 - New artsVest public art program launched in the Niagara Region will see five new public art sculptures installed
