Business, meet Art. Art, this is Business.

May 18, 2006 (Toronto, ON)

Okay, is this weird? Bright, young go-getter types who are making a name for themselves in business getting together with the most creative, artistic organizations in Toronto. And they're all working to make Toronto a more vibrant place to live.

That's "ArtsLink" – the Toronto Board of Trade's program to encourage young professionals to serve as volunteer board directors for arts groups. Why? Because we recognize that a great place to do business must first be a great place to live, and the arts are part of what make this city great.

You can learn more at our upcoming ArtsLink Open House, in partnership with The Council for Business and the Arts in Canada. Arts organizations will meet potential volunteers and match up their needs and talents – everything from legal services to fundraising and stakeholder management.

There will be 13 organizations taking part, representing many forms of visual and performing arts and all with board vacancies. They'll be meeting and matching with young business people who have been educated through previous events about the special business challenges facing arts organizations.

Alright, so not so weird. Just different. And different is good.
